Registered nurses help patients and families when they need it the most

I work in the Renal Department at the Regina General Hospital as a hemodialysis nurse.

I became a registered nurse because I wanted to have an impact on people's lives when it counts.

When people find themselves in the hospital it is often traumatic, unexpected and scary. If I can decrease that pain and anxiety then I feel like I have done my job well. I genuinely care about the wellbeing of my patients and will not only be their nurse, but their advocate.

To me expert care means taking a holistic approach to caring for each patient based on their individual needs.

I am passionate about what I do because I feel like I have the skill and ability to really help patients and families when they need it the most.
